Newlyweds Honeymooning in Seaside
It’s a joy to be writing this post as a newlywed to my sweet husband, Jonathan. Our wedding was a beautiful day filled with so much fun, laughter, excitement, and marked the end of the waiting season of engagement. Surrounded by our friends and family, Jonathan and I became husband and wife on February 15, 2025. Our wedding was intimate, with about 75 people in attendance. We served brunch food and a coffee bar, and it was my favorite day.
To kick off our honeymoon, we drove to Seaside, Florida! Below you’ll find some reviews of coffee shops and restaurants along with some pictures from our travels! The following star ratings are out of 5.
Restaurants:
Surfing Deer ★★★★★ - Our nicest dinner of the week was here. We drank delicious cocktails, ate steak and fries, and finished the evening off with lattes and creme brûlée banana cheesecake. It was my favorite meal of the entire week! I would highly recommend this if you are looking to spend roughly $100 per person on drinks, entrees, and dessert.
Cowgirl Kitchen ★★★★★ - This place was so good that we ate here twice during our 5-day stay. This restaurant had a pretty casual vibe, and we rolled in late after being on the road all day. The elote corn dip and the pina coladas are to die for! Whether you’re in the mood for a po boy or a fish sandwich, pizza or tacos, this is the place to go!
Pizza by the Sea ★★★☆☆ - For a really easy dinner that was close to where we were staying, this pizza place hit the spot. I’m sure there were nicer options, but we opted for an unusual pizza off the menu and it was pretty good!
Pickles ★★★★☆ - Pickles was a perfect lunch spot. Delicious, simple burgers, onion rings, and sandwiches. We ate here based off of a recommendation from a friend, and it did not disappoint!
La Crema Tapas and Chocolate ★★★★★ - All we ate here was chocolate fondue and americanos. This was my favorite dessert we ate all week. The dark chocolate fondue mixed with the espresso was absolutely divine. There was little indoor seating, so we had to sit outside. However, there were plenty of space heaters and even a cute local cat that was hanging out!
Coffee Shops:
Raw and Juicy ★★★★★ - Our first morning was spent enjoying acai bowls and an iced vanilla latte for breakfast. Most of their menu had vegan options, and the ingredients were natural. Everything was delicious. The only downside was that there was no indoor eating and the outside temperature was bout 50 degrees; there were, however, large space heaters that were making it slightly more pleasant. I would recommend this place for the vibes and delicious, natural menu!
Fonville Press ★★★★☆ - The atmosphere of this coffee shop was amazing! There was plenty of indoor seating and a coffee bar, along with an alcohol bar. The cinnamon rolls were incredible, and the coffee was delicious too! We took home some freshly roasted beans from this place and are currently enjoying using them in our Breville for delicious lattes at home.
Black Bear Bread Co. ★★★★★ - This coffee shop is located in the downtown Seaside area and it was well worth fighting for parking to get there. I enjoyed a honey cinnamon latte, a granola yogurt bowl that was bigger than my head, and a chocolate croissant (my favorite). Jonathan had a lox bagel and a coconut milk mocha latte. There were just a few indoor tables, but we were able to snag one. Plus, the weather was quite pleasant this day, so sitting outside would not have been bad at all.
Other notable things throughout the week were buying matching sweatshirts at the Seaside Style store, walking around in Camp Helen State Park, and walking around Rosemary Beach and Seaside. It was an incredible week, and it just made me look even more forward to a lifetime of marriage with my sweet husband.
Until next time,
xoxo, Kinsley Kelly
